I was thinking of making a smiter/hydromancer, does anyone have any suggestions on how a build like this might work?
Thanks

Heres my smiter though it doesnt use any skills from the elementalist side.
12smite
10energy storage +1 from head +3from superior vigor
8healing
Banish
Symbol of Wrath
Balthazar's Aura
(Shield of Judgement)-You can take this out since the skill is kinda hard to find being in mineral springs and u might want to get a rezz for it
Zealot's Fire
Orison of Healing
Reversal of Fortune
Retribution
Bascically you cast retribution. When you are getting ready to fight, first cast zealot's fire then you run you and cast symbol or wrath and balthazar's aura. After that, they should be taking quite a large amount of damage. If they aren't running away from you (most warrior just stays while casters usually runs) start spamming reversal of fortune and orison. The point with orison and reversal of fortune is to properly use zealot's fire. You would be doing like forty some damage every time you cast a spell and it also helps to keep yuou alive. When your opponent runs, i suggest run after them unless you see a better target. If they are on low health, cast a banish to kill them. The only problem might be when you face domination mesmers since they will kick the crap out of you if they cast backfire while you are spamming orison or reversal.

Seems strange to use Reversal of Fortune when you have 0 in protection?

I think reversal is there for spammability...i might actually try that instead of divine boon as a spammable for more spams for the mana...i don't know if i'll be able to survive long enough though...
But i have a E/Mo solo smiter that actually uses water and earth defense spells...and thats all right now :|...most of my points are in earth and water mag yet i think half of my skills are smites :P (though i found frozen burst to be a nice damage spell when you're travelling in groups.)
My solo setup:
Zealots Fire
Divine boon (thinking of changing to RoF)
Balths Aura
Ether Renewal {E} (very nice spell for solo eles)
Armor of Earth
Armor of Mist
Aura of Restoration
Balths Spirit
Water Magic 11 + 3 + 1
Energy storage 8 + 2
Earth Magic 6 or 7 + 1 (don't have it in front of me atm )
Smiting 9

There aren't many cold skills that you'll be using to do damage, because smiting pretty much covers that. You'd be better off getting more enchantments to set off Ether Renewal and going pure smiting and energy storage.

After i tested my old build out i changed it a little bit so that you can kinda tank with it.
Energy Storage: 9+1headpiece+3 superior rune
Protection:9
Smiting:12
Smite
Symbol of Wrath
Balthazar's Aura
Reversal of Fortune
Zealot's Fire
Protective Bond
Balthazar's Spirit
Rebirth
Bascically you cast Protective Bond and Balthazar's Spirit so that you would take maximum 5%of your health in damage. Usuallu you cant maintain Protective bond, but with Balthazar's and my skill points it comes out exactly even i think. Then being only able to take 25damage, cast reversal of fortune over and over again so you can just stay at the same health. If you have a healer monk in your group, they can cast healing seed on you which at 12healing gives you 25health every time you take damage so you bascically take no damage compared to the two or three hundreds you would normally take when you are an ele or monk fighting against ataxes. This build is actually pretty good for two man smites as long as you get full aggro in the beginning and your other person dont catch aggro or they will die very very quickly. This build is kinda worthless in fissure or other pve places where there is a variesty in monsters since the necros will strip your enchants killing you easily and the dots will piss you off alot. In pvp the build is kinda okay. In tombs it is bascically worthless since most people would dot you to death or stip enchant. In yhe random pvp, the build is actually okay, Once when I had a team of me, ele/me, ele/mes, mo/mes against a team of r/mo, mo/mes, mo/ele, mo/r, we literally fought for at least twenty minutes nonstop since noone can kill each other.

Water trident is still a great elite if you don't want to use ether renewal or ether prodigy ;(

If you are a smiter, in the middle of the action, crowded by foul enemies, and you happen to have hydromancy as your secondary, why not take the mistform as you elite? It will render all meelee foes around you useless for like 15 seconds, and you will be doing the damage thru your spells (healing etc) anyway.

I agree with this. Mist Form+ Bath. Aura+ Symbol of wrath and spamming RoF for zealots fire damage will work good.

in terms of self protection... protection prayer > water magic anyday...
in terms of team protection... protection prayer > water magic anyday...
in terms of damage dealing... smiting prayer > water anyday...
in terms of snaring the target... no contest, water > all monk
So... the only reason one should go water and smite... will be that you like it that way...

It contradicts the point of smiting. If you wanted a smiter for PvE, without renewal you'd die, even with the somewhat added versatility in range with [arcane]echoed tridents.
